If there are noises in the external environment, the measurement results of LED would be affected during testing process. The contact impedance which the probe contact not perfect is the most common reason. Several reasons cause this low quality of contact the probe life expired, dirt or dust mounted on probe, etc. Those contact influence will result in binning mistake and lowering the final product quality .
To help users preventing those probe-contact problems, CYT developes “T820”- the contact resistance monitor. Designed with open architecture, T820 can be connected with different handler and tester. Users can directly operate T820 through its own LCD screen and buttons on the front panel. T820 provides real-time monitor in the testing process. If the probe contact resistance is over the setting of T820, T820 would show warning lights and send signals to the handler. Through the warning, users could stop producing and check the probe condition. Of course, the binning mistake and low testing quality would be evitable, and the production stability could be accelerated.
The test principle of T820 is the basic Ohm’s law. Two probes of T820 and one pad of LED become a testing loop (like the right-side draw). T820 will measure the loop resistance and compare with the standard setting resistance. The standard T820 monitors 4 pads at the same time, and could be optional upgrade to 6 pads.
